SpaceWorks Commercial has paid internship positions for Summer 2009 for undergraduate or graduate students interested in space economics/finance, business, and policy.
FALL 2008/SPRING 2009 INTERNSHIPS: Part or Full-Time for Undergraduate or Graduate Students. Internships are typically 8-10 weeks in duration with flexible start and stop dates. Academic year internships can generally be 8-16 hours per week for part-time applicants.
This position is a part-time to full-time internship at SpaceWorks Commercial during the fall semester of 2008 or spring semester of 2009. SpaceWorks Commercial performs quantitative market analysis of future space markets. This analysis can include cost modeling and broader financial analysis for commercial clients. Sample applications include sub-orbital/orbital space tourism, commercial transportation services to the International Space Station (ISS), reusable launch vehicles (RLVs), space solar power, propellant depots, small payload demand, high speed global cargo delivery, etc. This position would require interest in examining such future space markets.
The applicant should be, at a minimum, on the path to obtaining a B.A., B.S., or M.B.A. in economics/finance, business, or a policy-related field. The successful applicant should be familiar or have an interest in commercial and policy aspects of space development including financing/economic modeling/market forecasting. Candidates should be highly motivated, possess good communication skills, be comfortable with quantitative modeling, and have a passion for space exploration and space economics. U.S. citizenship is desired for this position.

SUMMER 2009 INTERNSHIPS: Seasonal Full-Time for Undergraduate and Graduate Students. Summer internships are full-time, paid employment. Salaries depend on experience and qualifications, but range from $14/hour to $21/hour. Start and stop dates are flexible, but most internships last 10 - 12 weeks from mid-May to mid-August.
