Washington, D.C., October 22, 2009 — SpaceWorks Commercial, a division of SpaceWorks Engineering, Inc. (SEI), announces that it has established a Washington, D.C. office to continue the commercialization of space. Effective immediately, A.C. Charania (President of SpaceWorks Commercial) and Dominic DePasquale (Director, Washington D.C. Operations) will lead the new office. This new Washington D.C. field office of SEI, and headquarters of the Commercial Division (SpaceWorks Commercial), is located in the heart of downtown D.C. at 1701 K St. NW, Suite 750.
SpaceWorks Commercial specializes in aerospace advisory services related to new ventures. This takes the form of offering technical and programmatic services to clients as well as accelerating new ventures that originate within the firm. The Commercial Division of SEI will be focusing on many types of space markets including nano-launch services, high speed global point-to-point travel, space solar power, and lunar commercialization.
Mr. A.C. Charania, president of SpaceWorks Commercial states, "Today's announcement represents the next step in the evolution of SpaceWorks. Our strategy has been pragmatic, organic growth and after many years in Atlanta, establishing a second office in Washington, D.C. is a continuation of that plan. Given the location of many customers here and the nexus of space activity, the D.C. area is a logical place for SEI’s second office and as the headquarters of the Commercial Division. We look forward within the next year of announcing new ventures that arise from within SpaceWorks Commercial, part of our strategy to act as an aerospace accelerator. Overall in the next few years we will see major milestones in the commercialization of space, and we look forward to helping visionaries from around the world in this economic quest. We invite our current friends and future partners to visit us in our new Washington D.C. office to help make better decisions that lead to profitable space enterprises."
