Atlanta, June 17, 2002 — SpaceWorks Engineering, Inc. has received a contract to support the Program Planning office at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center.
SpaceWorks Engineering, Inc. has been awarded a contract by NASA Marshall Space Flight Center's Program Planning and Development office (TD10) to provide engineering analyses and support for two of their advanced space transportation concept investigations. One study is investigating future air-launch RLV concepts. The other is examining large payload launch vehicles to support future human space exploration. SEI will provide disciplinary analysis in trajectory optimization, cost estimating, operations, and safety assessment to the NASA team. In addition, SEI will review potential space transportation architectures that will help NASA meet the nation's future ETO and in-space transportation needs.
NASA's new Program Planning and Development office is tasked with examining far-term space transportation requirements and potential solutions. The goal is to identify any critical, long term technology development activities that should be started in the near-term.
