General Questions –

  • Who is SpaceWorks Software?
    • SpaceWorks Software is a Division of SpaceWorks Engineering, Inc. (SEI). This division was created in 2008 to advance the aerospace and numerical simulation communities with fast-acting robust tools. Originally, these tools were developed internally to support SEI’s own design and analysis projects. After undergoing enhanced development, testing, and refinement, these innovative tools are now being made available to commercial, academic, and government customers. For further information on SEI, please visit the corporate page at: www.sei.aero
  • How can I contact SpaceWorks Software?
  • Do you have 30-day trial versions for all your software products?
    • Yes!  We offer free 30-day trail versions for each software product.  Simply email software@sei.aero with your request and computer’s MAC address.
  • Are there academic discounts?
    • Yes, we have applied a 40% discount to the commercial price as an educational discount.  The price list is located in the lower right-hand corner of the SpaceWorks Software Home page. Eligible academic customers include current students, faculty and research staff at high schools, colleges, and universities. Please contact us directly at software@sei.aero to request an academic sale.
    •
  • What about licenses for classroom use?
    • We offer limited-duration classroom licenses of our software for free to qualified faculty members and their students who wish to use our tools for classroom projects, design classes, and other classroom exercises. Please contact us to request classroom-use licenses. These licenses typically run the duration of one academic semester or quarter and are to be used for direct instructional support, not for sponsored research or other non-classroom activities.
  • What is ITAR?
    • ITAR stands for International Traffic In Arms Regulation. It is a U.S. Law designed to reduce the proliferation of weapons and weapons technology outside the United States. Some software is affected by ITAR and as a result cannot be distributed to non-US citizens (or permanent residents). Our REDTOP-Pro and Sentry software products are subject to ITAR regulations. Customers of these products must qualify to handle and receive ITAR data. For more information concerning ITAR please see Directorate of Defense Trade Controls of the U.S. Department of State.
  • What is a MAC address?
    • A Media Access Control address (MAC address) is a unique identifier used to encode the manufacturer’s registered identification number on computers. We use your computer’s MAC address as part of our licensing system, so you will be required to provide it to us in order for us to generate your license file for the product you buy.
  • How can I find my MAC address?
    • For Windows –
      • Click ‘Start’
      • Click ‘Run’
      • Type in “cmd” and “Enter”
      • Type in “ipconfig/all”
      • The MAC address is a list of numbers and letters named ‘Physical Address’
    • For Macintosh –
      • Click the Apple in the upper left-hand corner
      • Click ‘About This Mac’ and click on ‘More Info...’
      • Scroll to ‘Network’ and click on ‘Built-in Ethernet’ or ‘Ethernet’
      • Scroll down to MAC address
        • Be sure to record device name ‘en0’ because this is your primary Ethernet.
  • Do you sell site licenses?
    • Yes!  Our price list for commercial, government, and academic is located in the lower right-hand corner of the SpaceWorks Software Home page.
    • For more information, please contact our Software Division at software@sei.aero or at 1+770.379.8011.
  • Is SpaceWorks Software affiliated with Pi Blue Software?
    • Yes and no. SpaceWorks Software acquired all intellectual property from Atlanta-based Pi Blue Software in October of 2008. The purchase included the rights to further develop and sell OptWorks: Excel and ProbWorks: Excel in all forms, as well as rights to images, logos, and graphics associated with Pi Blue. Pi Blue Software, Inc. was legally dissolved in Georgia in December 2008. Unfortunately, a Russian website pirate named Gayduk M. Alexandrovna purchased the www.piblue.com domain name in April of 2009 and proceeded to illegally host many of Pi Blue's old html pages there -- giving the false impression that Pi Blue Software is still operating and selling OptWorks and ProbWorks. Don't be taken in by this scam. The current owner of the piblue.com domain does not have any legal right to any of our software products or images, and he's not authorized to sell our software. He's just trying to make money through click-through ads. Unfortunately, the intricacies of international copyright law and search engines such as Google have not been helpful in our attempts to get that misleading content removed.
